My dog Bear

Hi, my name is Sharon. I want to tell you about my bout with my spastic colon. I know, I know, no one wants to talk about their issues. This is definitely not the most fun topic to blog about, but I am a very “tell it like it is” person, and I figure that if I am struggling with something other people are as well.

“Spastic Colon” is a loose term that is generally used in place of IBS, or Irritable Bowel Syndrome. This disorder can have symptoms that range all the way from extreme constipation to diarrhea- and everything in between!

The symptoms can be very mild to horribly uncomfortable. My problem has to do with some “mild” constipation, as some have put it, although not very mild to me! There are a lot of people who suffer from some form of spastic colon, with some countries reporting up to 50% of the population.

The “bottom” line, though, is that for the person who has a spastic colon, life can suck! Hence, the sad face that Bear, my dog, is showing us.  Luckily, there are ways to help the problem. Obviously, there is no magic cure, but I want to share something that has helped me.

My Crazy Colon

My Crazy Colon

I recently found a website, MyCrazyColon.com, which sells a colon cleanse product that I have found actually helps me feel better. I have tried other laxitives and fiber products, but this seems to be more gentle and consistently helps me feel better.

Their website is a little crazy, but the product has helped me. Also, they are not one of those horrible sites that have been going around the internet charging you every month against your will. They are actually pretty cool and even answered my email when I asked them a question.

Go check them out, and good luck with your spastic colon!

P.S. I have even lost a couple of pounds! Yeah! A little weight loss and feeling better. You just can’t beat that.
